The Hartland Fire Department is an organization “Devoted to the Preservation of Life and Property.”

The Hartland Fire Department pays to train volunteers as firefighters (FF), emergency medical technicians (EMT), or both firefighter and emergency medical technician (FF/EMT). Members are required to complete training classes as prescribed by departmental policies and procedures. Active personnel are required to participate in monthly fire training and meetings, which consist of one training night or special training scheduled by the Training Officer. There is a business meeting the first Monday of each month at 8:00 p.m., which every member is encouraged to attend.

The Hartland Fire Department proudly protects 8000+ people living in an area of 32+ square miles. We operate out of 1 station that services a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status.

The Hartland Fire Department is composed of 43 dedicated individuals who volunteer their services to help the community. We are staffed Monday through Friday with 2 full-time officers from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. After 6:00 p.m. we have a schedule of 4 EMTs that run a 12-hour night shift and a 24-hour weekend shift. Our ambulance services not only Hartland, but the Village of Chenequa, the Village of Merton, and the Town of Merton. Those areas offer First Responders and we provide an ambulance for transport when needed. We have an ISO rating of 5.
