- No changes to the setup or configuration of the hardware or software will be allowed. While the user's right of privacy will be respected, the library staff reserves the right to monitor use of the workstation to ensure that policy restrictions are being followed. Users will not be allowed to download anything to the hard drive of the computer. Any misuse of a library computer will be deemed vandalism and may result in suspension of privileges or legal action.
- The Hartland Public Library has no control over the accuracy of information accessed through the Internet, and cannot be held responsible for its content. The library is not responsible for equipment malfunction or operator error. The library assumes no responsibility for any monetary transactions conducted on a library Internet computer. Selection policies that determine materials purchased by the library do not apply to Internet usage. Due to ever expanding technology, not all staff members will be trained in every application available through the Internet. An Internet trained staff member will not be available at all times when the library is open. Books and materials are offered at the library to help patrons use the Internet on their own.
